Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information VidMixer collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run the service and keep it safe, we never sell your data, and our analytics never see the videos you look up or download.

Links you submit — When you paste a video link, it is sent to our server so we can look up the video and prepare your download.

Server logs — Our server keeps a log of the requests it handles, including the video link you submitted, your IP address and the time of the request. We use these logs to keep the service running, troubleshoot errors and prevent abuse (for example, to enforce rate limits). We keep them only as long as we need them for those purposes.

Video files — To prepare your download, the file is saved on our server temporarily. It is deleted automatically within about 20 minutes, whether or not your download finished.

Analytics — We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how people find the site (for example, from a search engine), and the type of device and browser, language and approximate location (country or city) of visitors. We've set it up so it does not receive the video links you paste, the links you open from a video's preview, or the files you download.

Preferences on your device — We save small preferences in your browser's local storage, such as having closed the announcement banner. These stay on your device and are never sent to us.

• We don't require an account, and we don't ask for your name, email address or a password.
• We don't use advertising cookies, and we never sell your data.
• We don't share the links you paste or the files you download with analytics or advertising providers.
• We don't keep copies of downloaded videos beyond the short preparation window described above.

VidMixer itself doesn't set cookies. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) so it can recognise returning visitors and count visits; they last up to two years unless you delete them. We don't use advertising cookies.

Video platforms — To process a download, our server connects to the platform that hosts the video (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and so on). For some platforms these requests go through a proxy service provider. The preview image shown before you download is loaded by your browser directly from the platform, so that platform can see your IP address, just as it would if you visited it; we don't tell it which page you came from. Please review those platforms' own privacy policies for details on the data they collect.

Google Analytics — Provided by Google, which processes the data described above under its own privacy policy. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

• Stop Google Analytics on every site with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block or delete cookies in your browser settings. VidMixer works the same either way.
• Clearing your browser's site data removes the preferences we store on your device.
• For questions or requests about data related to you, including our server logs, email us at the address below.

All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS. We apply industry-standard security practices to protect data during processing. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

VidMixer is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
